Designthinks was officially born in Milan May 11, 2004, founded by three young designers with in common not only their passion for industrial design but also their common attendance at the degree course in industrial design at Politecnico di Milano founded presided over by founder Tomás Maldonado, a cosmopolitan and interdisciplinary artist, designer and intellectual.

The alchemy created during the design courses, continues even once they have graduated, attended master's degrees and after various work experiences at companies and design studios, the three designers create in 2004 Designthinks, a design company active in both industrial design, the graphic world and strategy design consulting. Over the years, control of the company passed to Germano Pettenuzzo while the other members decided to pursue other successful businesses, but designthinks continues to collaborate with companies, design studios, artists and technicians while holding true to its motto: to shape their knowledge and creativity "We Design Thoughts, We Design Things."
In addition to the conception and design of new products or furniture, engineering services are also offered for contract-related products and projects.
